Immigration Law

Immigration Law includes the federal statutesregulations, and legal precedents governing a foreign national’s eligibility for admission to and removal from the United States, as well as naturalization and acquisition of U.S. citizenship.  Immigration laws regulate the terms of entry and exit of foreign nationals, as well as internal controls, such as the duration and conditions of stay, and the ability to change or adjust status to remain in the country. Immigration involves multiple federal agencies including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of State (U.S. Embassies), the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Courts), as well as federal courts in some instances.
